McDowell Activity Center

The McDowell Activity Center is in the heart of the University of Mary campus and home to the Marauders men's basketball, women's basketball, volleyball and wrestling teams. Known as the MAC, the facility seats 1,300 people.

The multipurpose facility is also used for many different campus events, including Prayer Day, convocations, and the Wheat Ceremony for incoming students.

The court is named for longtime Marauders athletic director Al Bortke. In addition to being a highly successful men's basketball coach for the Marauders, Al oversaw the expansion of Marauders athletics from one program to over 20 with impressive national success.

 

Directions To The University of Mary

From the North
Take Highway 83 south (which becomes State Street) to 7th Street and turn left. Take 7th Street to Bismarck Expressway and turn left. Take Bismarck Expressway to University Drive and turn right. Stay on University Drive for about 6 miles. (You will pass Bismarck Airport on your left.) The University of Mary campus is on the right at the top of the hill. Do not take the first (north) entrance into the campus. Take the second (south) entrance. Turn left at the Annunciation Monastery sign. Follow the road past the monastery to the Benedictine Center for Servant Leadership, our main administration building. There is visitor parking on the south side. If you're looking for the Admissions Office, it's on the lower level of the Benedictine Center.

From the Bismarck Airport
Exit the airport and turn left onto University Drive. Stay on University Drive for about 4 miles. The University of Mary campus is on the right at the top of the hill. Do not take the first (north) entrance into the campus. Take the second (south) entrance. Turn left at the Annunciation Monastery sign. Follow the road past the monastery to the Benedictine Center for Servant Leadership, our main administration building. There is visitor parking on the south side. If you're looking for the Admissions Office, it's on the lower level of the Benedictine Center.

From the South
Take Interstate 94 toward Bismarck. When you get to Bismarck, follow the directions from the East or West.

From the East
Take Interstate 94 to Exit 161. Turn left at the light onto East Bismarck Expressway. Turn left at the fourth light onto Airport Road. Take Airport Road to University Drive and turn left. Follow University for about four miles. The University of Mary is on the right at the top of the hill. Do not take the first (north) entrance into the campus. Take the second (south) entrance. Turn left at the Annunciation Monastery sign. Follow the road past the monastery to the Benedictine Center for Servant Leadership, our main administration building. There is visitor parking on the south side. If you're looking for the Admissions Office, it's on the lower level of the Benedictine Center.

From the West
Take Interstate 94 to Exit 156. After crossing the Expressway Bridge, you will be on Bismarck Expressway. Take Bismarck Expressway to the fourth light (University Drive), and turn right. Stay on University Drive for about 6 miles. (You will pass Bismarck Airport on your left.) The University of Mary campus is on the right at the top of the hill. Do not take the first (north) entrance into the campus. Take the second (south) entrance. Turn left at the Annunciation Monastery sign. Follow the road past the monastery to the Benedictine Center for Servant Leadership, our main administration building. There is visitor parking on the south side.
